Mission Haiti is committed to supporting vulnerable children through its operation of the Haiti Christian Orphanage under the leadership of Jasper Cinus. The orphanage is home to 29 boys, offering them care, guidance, and a chance at a brighter future. Recent developments have prompted transformative changes to ensure the safety and well-being of these children.

Relocation to Cap-Haitian

Due to the escalating dangers in Port-au-Prince caused by ongoing gang violence, Mission Haiti has made the decision to relocate 20 of the boys to a new, safer location in Cap-Haitian. This move is designed to provide a secure environment where the boys can thrive without the looming threats present in their previous surroundings.

Transition to Private Homes

In addition to the relocation, Mission Haiti is actively transitioning the remaining 9 boys who are aging out, into private homes. This initiative seeks to ensure that each child has a nurturing and stable environment during this period of heightened insecurity.

Continued Operation in Port-au-Prince

While the orphanage in Port-au-Prince is temporarily closed for residential purposes, Mission Haiti continues to operate its school on the property. This school serves  hundreds of children who are unable to leave Port-au-Prince, ensuring that they still have access to education despite the challenging circumstances.

Future Aspirations

Mission Haiti remains hopeful about reopening the orphanage in Port-au-Prince once the security situation improves. This long-term goal reflects the unwavering dedication to supporting the community and providing essential services to those in need.

Conclusion

The Haiti Christian Orphanage, now operational in Cap-Haitian, represents Mission Haiti's adaptability and commitment to its mission. This transition highlights a proactive response to challenges while continuing to support children in both Cap-Haitian and Port-au-Prince. Mission Haiti's efforts are a testament to resilience and hope amid adversity.
