Director Wayne Golden and Dr. Chavannes
As the CEO and founder of Mission Haiti, Wayne’s vision and dedication have left an indelible mark on countless lives both within Haiti and across the globe. A graduate of New Orleans Southern Baptist Seminary, Wayne has woven together threads of spiritual leadership, organizational innovation, and deep compassion throughout his extensive career.
Founding Mission Haiti:
The establishment of Mission Haiti by Wayne was born from a heartfelt calling to serve one of the world’s most impoverished nations.
At the core of Mission Haiti’s operations is the Haiti Christian Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, a sanctuary for vulnerable children offering stability, education, and faith-based nurture. Wayne’s hands-on involvement has helped to shape the orphanage into a model of compassionate care, where every child is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Pastoral Leadership and Ministry in Haiti
Wayne’s ministry in Haiti has been deep and multifaceted. For decades, he has worked alongside Haitian pastors and church leaders, offering training, and encouragement. Recognising the unique challenges faced by local leaders, Wayne partnered with Dr. Chavannes, former Vice-President of Haiti to develop a national prayer strategy, equipping churches to stand together in faith and purpose.
Service at Bethlehem Baptist Church
Wayne’s pastoral journey reached a significant milestone during his tenure at Bethlehem Baptist Church. For 18 years, he served faithfully as pastor, shepherding the congregation through seasons of growth, transition, and renewal. His retirement in January 2025 marked the culmination of nearly two decades of devoted service, characterized by biblical teaching, personal care, and a deep commitment to prayer.
